<p> <strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p> Particular responsibilities will include:</p>
<p> Attending to the personal and learning needs of students who have a wide range of special education needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia) and/or emotional and behavioural difficulties.</p>
<p> Supporting these students in practical lessons and moving around the classrooms and Academy where necessary.</p>
<p> Working with teachers and other professionals in planning and implementing individual learning programmes for students who haveSEN.</p>
<p> Maintaining the flow of information about students withSENto the SENCo and relevant staff at the Academy.</p>
<p> Being available to undertake additional duties in the form of cover for sick or absent colleagues from the LSA team.</p>
<p> Undertaking relevant in service training arranged by the Academy.</p>
<p> Undertaking other related duties negotiated with teaching staff, support staff or the Principal.</p>

<p><strong> </strong>It is important that candidates have had an experience or have expertise in most if not all of the following areas:</p>
<p>Experience of data tracking/target setting.</p>
<p>An experience of teaching GCSE and A Level.</p>
<p>High practical subject knowledge in a range of activity areas.</p>
<p>Have strengths within Netball/Hockey/Basketball and a desire to lead on these teams.</p>
<p>Strong understanding of AfL techniques.</p>
<p>Understanding of APP in Physical Education.</p>
<p>Any ‘new’ or ‘different’ practical expertise outside of the major sports would also be beneficial.</p>

<p> This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious colleague to deliver Art &amp; Design Textiles in a very innovative and forward thinking Faculty.  The Creative Design Faculty consistently outperforms national trends achieving exceptional results in all age phases within all subject areas.  The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering KS3 &amp; KS4 Product Design Textiles and also Art &amp; Design. </p>
<p> Technology is taught to all students at KS3 and KS4 and we are in the enviable position of being able to offer Technology lessons to all students all year round rather than on the more usual carousel basis.  We have developed a skills based Y8 curriculum that incorporates a diverse range of skills, ranging from Photography through to CAD/CAM.  We are very proud of the diverse curriculum we offer to our students and allow them to opt for their chosen pathway in the creative fields at the end of year 8. </p>
<p> Technology and Art &amp; Design are integral parts of the Creative Design Faculty that is made up of Art, Media and Technology.   We are highly resourced with ICT and the environment we offer our students has a range of well appointed and attractive rooms in one wing of the Academy.  Our ICT facilities include 6 designated computer rooms, 3 laser cutters, 4 Bernina sewing machines and a verticalCNCrouter.  We have designated Catering and Textiles rooms as well as a Design Centre and Creative Centre.  The Creative Design Faculty benefits from the support of three technicians with a variety of industrial backgrounds.</p>
<p>Each member of the Faculty plays a key role in its success.  The Faculty has excellent team spirit, with staff being willing, supportive, and hard working. </p>
<p> <strong>Core Responsibilities  </strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>Assist in the day to day running of the Creative Design Faculty.</p>
<p>Assist in maintaining the teaching environments, including displays and adjoining corridors.</p>
<p>Monitor the setting of targets at KS3 and KS4 looking at the performance of individual students and subject performance.</p>
<p> Respond to the management of behavioural issues within the Creative Design Faculty.</p>
<p>Assist in the review of the departments performance and SEF documentation.</p>
<p>To ensure that all lessons and the environment meet the standards set out by<em> </em>Health<em> and Safety for Design and Technology BS 4163</em><em>.</em></p>
<p>Support the team at all levels and contribute to innovation and development in teaching and learning.</p>
<p>Maintain and plan Schemes of Work to ensure relevant curriculum content, progression and continuity.</p>
<p>Explore opportunities for a more diverse and varied curriculum 14-19.</p>
<p>To assist in the development of all resources in Technology, including the Virtual Learning Environment.</p>
<p>Display and encourage a range of appropriate teaching and learning strategies to ensure a high level of learning.</p>
<p>Assist in the development of appropriate systems for recording, assessing, analysis and retaining evidence of student work, providing feedback to students, parents and colleagues.</p>
<p>Continue development of local and national industry links.</p>
<p> <strong>Professional Qualities required for this role</strong></p>
<p>You will be a teacher qualified to teach Product Design/Textiles.</p>
<p>You must be capable of inspiring a commitment to the subject in the curriculum and the wider enrichment programme.</p>
<p>The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of CAD/CAMTechnology and how it is implemented into a Product Design/Textiles.</p>
<p>You will be familiar with the post 16 provision for the subject, and have knowledge of the ways in which the curriculum can be innovated and developed in the 14-19 phase.</p>
<p> You will be a very confident user of ICT in your teaching, preparation and planning.</p>
<p>You will have a vision for Technology and for the way that Technology contributes to the Personalising Learning agenda that we are committed to at John Cabot Academy.</p>
