To load your card with coins or notes please use the machine at the dining room entrance.
Cashless Canteen System
At the beginning of year 7 all students are given a card free of charge.
The students need to load the card before they come into the canteen, this can be done daily or weekly, whenever is convenient.
For the first day you can either bring coins, notes or cheques – students are given time with their tutors on the first day to load their cards.
Payment methods
- To load your card with coins or notes please use the machine at the dining room entrance. The machine gets very busy at break times, the best time is before or after school.
- To load your card with a cheque please post it into the box at the dining room entrance. If you put it in the box before 9am it will be loaded before morning break, anytime after it will be loaded the following day.
- Please make your cheque payable to Sodexo and write the students name on the back otherwise we don’t know whose card to load it onto!
Other useful information
- If you lose your card – don’t panic! Most cards turn up within a day or two, you can still make purchases at the till by either giving your name or card number.
- Your first card is free of charge – but if you do lose it but please come and see Louise or Jenny at the counter – a replacement card costs £3.
- Please don’t ‘share’ cards – if you try to use someone else’s card you will be stopped.
- If you forget your dinner money you can come and see us for an overdraft for the day, this allows you to go into a minus value to ensure you get something to eat. If you do ask for an overdraft a letter is sent to your home to inform your parent/guardian. The maximum overdraft is £3.
- Parents – if you have any concerns over spending or food choices it is possible to set a daily spending limit or to restrict the purchase of certain items. In addition the cashless system records all purchases for the academic year so if you have any concerns please contact me on the number above.
