Inset Day closure – Friday 23 September

As you are aware, each year in September we hold two open evenings for parents and students who are interested in applying to come to the Academy.  This year the open evenings are being held on Thursday 15 September and Thursday 22 September, from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. 

Every year the number of visitors increases and we feel it important to recognise the huge amount of effort that staff and students put into making these evenings a success, including staying late on both occasions.  As a result, you will know that last year the Academy closed early on the day after the second evening to give staff and students a longer weekend break. 

This year, the Academy will be closed for the whole day on Friday 23 September.  This is to cover the usual half day for staff and students in recognition of their efforts on both open evenings; with the remaining half day being used to facilitate the new staff appraisal system.
