Religious Education Inspection Outcome

Written by Adam Williams on 18/02/2011 – 5:11 am -

The OfSTED inspection of RE at the Academy has now been completed.  This process was a very different and much more detailed and rigorous experience than the full Academy inspection in November 2009 and represents the probable inspection format of the future for Outstanding Schools like Cabot.  RE is a statutory subject (like Maths, English and PE) which students are required to study through to the completion of their compulsory education and can, in some schools, be something that young people resent being forced to study.  Therefore the judgement that RE at the Academy is Good is an outcome that I am extremely proud of and is in line with my own assessment of the department which I submitted to OfSTED prior to the inspection.

Staff and students worked hard to demonstrate the effective work that takes place in RE and, whilst we have some clear areas to improve upon, I am pleased that the progress we have made in this area has been recognised.

The summary letter outlining the key findings will be available in around 10 day’s time and will be shared with parents in due course.
